Tree of Life Church - Lead Pastor Information
Position Summary: The Pastor will be a biblically qualified elder that preaches God's Word and shepherds God's People. In partnership with the other elders, the Pastor will provide spiritual leadership, doctrinal integrity, ministry clarity and loving care to the congregation.
Biblical Requirements: The Pastor will be called and qualified according to the Word of God (I Tim. 3:1-7, Tit. 1:5-9). The Pastor will have a credible testimony of salvation and holiness before the people whom he serves. The Pastor will faciliate the unity, doctrine, ministries and governance of the church.
Service Responsibilities: The following expectations will be required.
Expository Preaching: The Pastor will preach and teach expositionally and systematically through the Scriptures for the growth and godliness of the congregation.
Reformed Doctrine: The Pastor will affirm the Doctrines of Grace and the Five Solas as core theological convictions for life and ministry.
Spiritual Leadership: The Pastor will provide intentional leadership to staff, volunteers and ministries marked by humility, love and truth.
Relational Discipleship: The Pastor will pursue and engage men to equip them to lead their families and to serve in the church.
Biblical Shepherding: The Pastor will provide pastoral care through prayer, encouragement, hospitality, counseling, weddings, funerals and church discipline.
Gospel Mission: The Pastor will be teach, model, compel and engage the congregation to evangelize locally and globally for the cause of Christ. Family Focus: The Pastor will teach, model, compel and engage the congregation to focus on their family relationships according to the Scriptures.
